New releases

New FeedbackFruits version in Microsoft Teams

FeedbackFruits has been updated in Microsoft Teams app store!

What are the key benefits?

The app is now available in all 242 countries with access to Microsoft Teams. You can now enjoy the new FeedbackFruits toolpicker and Competency Based Education features, such as Templates, Portfolios, Learning Design Community or Learning Analytics.

How to use it?

With this new update, the availability of the new version for teachers and students depends on your institution's MS Teams settings. If updates are not set to happen automatically by default, IT admins may need to approve and update the app through the Microsoft Teams admin environment first.

For teachers, the regular workflow of creating an activity in MS Teams will be the same, the only difference will be when creating activities from the new toolpicker.

For Competency-Based Education, please read more information in the link below:

Why did we create this?

In order to keep consistency throughout all LMS and platforms, we want to ensure all students and teachers enjoy a seamless and enhanced experience with FeedbackFruits latest developments.

What’s the availability?

The new toolpicker will be available to all users with access to FeedbackFruits in Microsoft Teams. The Competency Based Education features are available upon demand. An IT admin update in the Microsoft Teams admin site might be necessary. If you or your institution are interested, please contact your FeedbackFruits Pilot and Partner Success Manager or your main FeedbackFruits contact person.

New Assignments redesign and phasing out versions 1.0 and 2.0

From June 14th, the enhanced design of Peer Review, Group Member Evaluation, Self-Assessment of Skills and Self-Assessment of Work will become the default workflow, and the 1.0 and 2.0 versions will be phased out.

How will it impact my assignments?

  • Assignments created before June 14th WITH student progress: they will not be modified. They will maintain their current look and feel.

  • Assignments created before and June 14th WITHOUT student progress: will automatically adopt the new user interface and workflow.

  • Newly created assignments after June 14th: will automatically adopt the new user interface and workflow.

  • Using or sending Copy from existing & Templates after June 14th: All newly assignments created by Copy from Existing and Templates, regardless of their origin, will transition to the newly redesigned user interface. Users will no longer have the option to revert to the old version, ensuring consistency across all assignments.

What are the key benefits?

  • Simplified and enhanced feedback experience: We're making it easier for students to give and understand feedback, with a more intuitive navigation between giving and receiving ratings and reviews.

  • Better mobile usability: We're enhancing our mobile interface for an accessible, user-friendly experience anytime, anywhere.

  • Consistent flow throughout our solutions: We're using the same designs across our tools to eliminate navigation confusion and simplify onboarding for new users.

What's the availability?

These improvements will be automatically available to all users with access to Peer Review, Self-Assessment and Group Member Evaluation upon release, without the need for additional requests. If you have any questions or concerns about this transition, please reach out to your FeedbackFruits Partner Success or contact person.

Improvements for all users

Media Accessibility improvements for attachments

Both teachers and students are now able to add accessible alternative files to any multimedia attachment in:

  • Comments (such as discussion threads, replies to comments/reviews…)

  • Review comments

  • Instructions (module, per step or in Reflections)

  • Teacher notes (only visible to teachers)

  • Explanation cards

  • Question explanations on multiple-choice questions (Quiz, Interactive Study Materials…)

  • Topic prompts (Discussion of Topic)

  • Annotations (Comprehension)

We support these alternative attachments:

  • Subtitles

    • Users can use subtitles auto-generated by FeedbackFruits (possibility to download and edit them)

    • Users can upload their own subtitles

  • Audio description

    • Users can record an audio via FeedbackFruits

    • Users can attach an audio file

  • Text description

    • Users can write a text description

What are the key benefits?

  • Enhanced inclusivity: Our new accessibility options ensure that all users can access and utilize our tools.

  • Diverse attachment support: Users can now choose from various accessible attachment formats to best suit their individual needs.

  • Improved user experience: By offering alternative accessible attachments, we make our solutions more user-friendly and accommodating for everyone.

How to use it?

  • How to add an alternative attachment? When commenting, replying, writing a review or instructions, you can click on the ‘+ Add items’ button to attach a multimedia file. Once uploaded, by clicking on the three dots on the right of the file, you can click on 'Manage accessibility'. You will be presented with a pop-up indicating the accessible alternatives you can upload. You can easily upload or autogenerate your subtitles, upload or record audio, or add a text description in the same fashion as in other multimedia attachments in FeedbackFruits. The accessibility icon will appear next to the file. You can manage accessibility any time.

  • How to explore an alternative attachment? When in a comment, review, or discussion, next to the attached multimedia file, if accessible alternatives have been added, the accessibility icon will appear. When clicking on the accessibility icon, students can access the accessible alternatives. In the near future, they will be able to request them in case there aren't any.

Why did we create this?

In our ongoing commitment to inclusivity, we have expanded our accessibility options to support alternative accessible attachments. This enhancement ensures that all students can fully engage and interact with our solutions in a way that works best for them.

What’s the availability?
