“Review as a group” functionality added in Peer Review and Group Member Evaluation
Groups can now review the work of other groups, as a group, within Peer Review and Group Member Evaluation. This setting unlocks a crucial feature also requested by many programmes where in students can give feedback as a group in the group member evaluation and peer review tool.
This means that one student can hand in the submission, and complete the feedback on behalf of the group, so that not all students have to do so.
This can be set up within a Peer Review or Group Member Evaluation assignment from the student collaboration options menu.
Improvements for teachers and LMS admins
Coming Up in a Future Release: Suggested Ratings/Reviews from Acai in Assignment Review
We are wrapping up work on Acai Suggested Ratings/Reviews within Assignment Review, and are now in an invite-only test phase for this new functionality.
With Acai Suggested Ratings/Reviews, we are making a first step in helping educators in the grading process for academic writing. Through interpreting the rubric used in the learning activity, Acai provides rubric level suggestions and draft reviews for each student submission. The teacher remains in control, and can decide to adopt suggestions, augment or discard them.
Interested in participating in testing? Reach out to your Pilot/Partner Manager or acai@feedbackfruits.com - spots in this phase are limited.
Improved Toolpicker experience
Previously, when clicking a template in the Toolpicker, it immediately created and saved a copy of the selected template and opened the edit mode of that copy. If opening the template was unintended, this created a negative user experience.
This experience should now be improved with a trashcan icon button in the top left of the dialog screen that allows you to go back to the Toolpicker, deleting the just created copy. The screenshots show the before/after difference - in the top left corner of the after image, below, you can see the trash can icon.
Preview across all activities in the toolpicker
Users in the toolpicker will now be able to preview all activities prior to implementing. This preview enables you to preview the steps that make up part of the activity you are about to implement.
If you want to personalize the text below the steps in the activity preview to give more context to the activity, you can add that using notes in the template.
Autopublish grades
It’s now possible to schedule publishing of grades or select for them to be updated continuously upon changes being made within an activity.
You can edit your choices within the edit view from the grading step.
Grading of non-participants
Within an assignment, you can now choose when students should receive no grade at all (a null grade).
Within the grading module, you can also choose what grade assignment a non-participant will receive - either a null grade (do not grade at all) or an assigned grade of 0.
Improved documentation for integration scopes
We’ve improved our available documentation for integrations - you can choose your LMS integration from the selection here: Integrating FeedbackFruits with your LMS
Of particular importance is we now support Canvas Dynamic Registration alongside our already offered Inherited Key and Manual Registration. You can read more in the Canvas setup article here: How to configure LTI 1.3 for Canvas
