Helpdesk article students
This article will show you how to use FeedbackFruits’ Automated Feedback tool as a student. This tool allows you to receive feedback on your work before the deadline of your assignment. This feedback is only for you to learn from, and will not be graded by your teacher.
Note that Automated Feedback is powered by Artificial Intelligence, which is continuously learning and improving. This means it may make mistakes, and you should therefore still think critically about the feedback it gives you. Please feel free to object to any incorrect feedback to help it learn and grow.
Read the teachers’ instructions and take a look at the criteria that your teacher has activated for the assignment. This can be done in Step 3: Automated Feedback by navigating to the “show criteria” option.
This provides an overview of what your assignment will be checked upon by Automated Feedback once you’ve uploaded it. These criteria are enabled by your teacher.
Hand in your assignment at Step 2: Hand in. In the top right corner, you can see how much time there is left for this task. The sooner you hand in your assignment, the more time you will have to work through the comments given by Automated Feedback before handing in your final version.
Please note that Automated Feedback only works for written documents. If you would like to verify whether it supports your file, please navigate to “or show some other file” to get the full overview.
After uploading your assignment, the system will review your work to see if the required criteria are present in your document. The checking of your work will take about two to three minutes.
The feedback is provided in Step 3: Automated feedback and can be either a compliment or a suggestion. A compliment is given if the system recognizes that a certain criterion is met by your work. A suggestion is made if a given criterion is not met by your work.
For some suggestions the system gives you, you can click the “show comments” button to view the feedback in your document. You can also enter your document by clicking on the title of your document.
Within the document, more in-depth feedback will be given. The specific item will be highlighted to ensure you know to which part the feedback relates.
Objecting to feedback
The feedback given to you by the system is not always perfect, so you might not agree with the suggestions it provides. If this is the case, you can click “object” and the feedback will change from a suggestion to contested. Objecting to an outcome that you believe is incorrect will actually help us improve the quality of our feedback.
You are always welcome to “retract your objection” if you change your mind.
Processing the feedback
Once you have received the feedback you can start processing this. You can submit your assignment(s) as many times as you would like to this submission point until the deadline passes. Please note that at all times you are eligible to remove the file you’ve uploaded at Step 2: hand in. You can do so by clicking on the “trash can”. There will be no record made of the file you’ve uploaded in our system.
Hopefully, this article has helped you to better understand what Automated Feedback has to offer. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact our support team.
