Step 1: Instructions

In step 1, you can read the instructions that have been set by your teacher.

Step 2: Hand in

When you scroll down to step 2, you'll find a box where you can submit your file. You can either click Select File to upload a file from your computer or drag a file directly into the box. Alternatively, you can paste a website link, such as for a YouTube video.

If you're submitting work as a group, only one group member needs to submit it. The other members can view what has been submitted and see the comments made by other students about your work.

Once you’ve submitted your work, the following screen will appear. If you wish, you can upload additional files. By clicking on your file, you can view your submission in a separate window. I f you did not upload the correct file, you can delete it by clicking on the trash icon.

Step 3: Discuss with your peer

In step 3, you will engage in discussions about your peers' work. Read the instructions (if provided by the teacher), then click Go to the Discussion to proceed.

Note: you will have to wait until your peers have submitted their files, otherwise you can not start discussing their documents. As you can see below, you have to discuss the submissions of 2 peers, so you need to wait until you can discuss the work of 2 people before you can move on to the next step.

Fig. 4: Step 3

When you click Go to the Discussion, you will be redirected to a new page where you can view your peers' work and start engaging in the comment section. In this example, you are required to discuss two peer's work. By default, the first peer's work is already displayed. To view the next peer's work, click the Look for a Peer button.

Fig. 5: Discuss with your peer

To view your peer's work, hover over their file and click the center. This will redirect you to a new page where their file will open (if they submitted a video, you will see the video).

If it's a document, you can highlight a sentence or phrase, which will reveal a comment box on the right side where you can write your comment.

Fig. 7: Adding comment on a document

If it's a video, click the green button on the video's timeline to add your comment.

Your progress will update automatically once you complete the task.

Step 4: Open Discussion

In this step, you will discuss the work of another classmate. Simply click Go to the Discussion to view their work.

Fig. 9: Step 4

On the open discussion page, you'll see all the posts from your classmates. You can sort them from newest to oldest, most to least recent activity, most to least commented on, most to least upvoted, or randomly.

Choose a peer's work that you'd like to comment on, and your progress will update automatically once you complete the task.

Step 5: Select Most Valuable Contributions (If made available)

This is an additional step, so please note that it may not always be included. If your teacher has added this step, you will find it in Step 5.

Fig. 11: Select most valuable contributions

Here, you can select the most valuable contributions from the comments made by other students. Simply click the Valuable button on the comment you find most meaningful.

After selecting the comment, make sure to click the Done button located in the top-right corner. This will bring you back to the main page.

If you want to change your selection, click the Change button located above the comment you originally chose.

Step 6: Reflect on the activity (If made available)

If your teacher has included a reflection step for the assignment, it will appear in step 6. Students can begin this step once they have completed step 3, Discuss with your peers. If this step hasn’t been completed yet, it will be displayed as shown in the image below.

Fig. 15: Reflect on the activity not yet available

Below is an example of a student who completed their reflection on the activity. At the top of the step 6 section, you’ll find the instructions from the teacher, and at the bottom, the student’s input. Once the deadline has passed (if one is set), the reflection can no longer be edited.

Grading

Finally, at the bottom of the assignment, the points of the grading are shown (see image below).

Fig 17: Grades

When the teacher hasn't enabled grading (yet), then the assignment won't be graded unless your teacher enables it. This grading section will then be shown as in the image below:
