Group Formation Tool: Publish to Groups to LMS for Blackboard and Blackboard Ultra
It is now possible to publish groups from our Group Formation tool to Blackboard and Blackboard Ultra. This can be done from inside the activity, by clicking on the Publish to LMS button.
We launched our Group Formation Tool earlier this year, to help make effective groups, automatically. Group Formation helps teachers easily create inclusive and well-balanced groups, aiming to enhancing group dynamics, learning outcomes, student satisfaction, and engagement.
We are excited to now support this feature in Blackboard and Blackboard Ultra, alongside Canvas/Instructure, D2L/Brightspace, and Moodle. Please note that after publishing the groups to the LMS, it won't be possible to modify them via FeedbackFruits anymore. It is possible to edit them via the LMS.
This functionality will require an update to the integration scopes. For group synchronisation with BlackBoard and Blackboard Ultra please ask your FeedbackFruits contact person for more information about the integration and its availability.
A new way to access your libraries, portfolio & analytics
Accessing libraries, analytics and portfolio just got a lot easier. By logging into app.feedbackfruits.com with your institutional email you can now access your my library, institutional and shared libraries, alongside course and cohort analytics.
Improvements for all users
Real-time Acai Coach for Feedback/Reflect/Discussion
We continue to improve our Acai Coach functionality: starting this release, feedback from the Coach on the contributions that students are writing, will appear in real time. This is more in line with the experience users of other generative AI products, like ChatGPT, expect. At the same time, we have optimized when Acai starts generating new feedback, to be less distracting when students are iterating on their contribution.
Improved UX for comments on submissions
There have been a few core improvements to the experience of commenting on submissions tools:
A comment in a submission is now emphasized more, which is especially useful when a comment is not shown in context of the submission. With multi-submission review this allows seeing in which submission the comment was written.
When writing a review comment inline, adding an annotation would bring you to another "page" in the sidebar, which requires re-selecting the criterion and it will lose attachments. This is now solved by adding the annotation the inline comment.
YouTube player video updates
YouTube terms of services have changed so we can no longer overlay interactive video elements on top of the embedded player - we have shrunk the YouTube video player by 15%. Other video platforms (e.g. Vimeo, Kaltura, Panopto) remain unaffected.

Sync status updates for enrollments and groups
To streamline the process of integrating FeedbackFruits with the LMS, we are adding more feedback around the integration status. When setting up your assignments you now get updates on the syncing of enrollments and groups. In addition to showing when a sync is happening and when it last succeeded, it also allows retrying the sync. It’s available immediately for all tools and activities.
