Introduction
We’re excited to introduce a new feature designed to make getting started with FeedbackFruits even easier: first-time onboarding for teachers. This guided flow ensures that educators who are new to our platform can quickly discover the activity that best suits their teaching needs, without needing to be familiar with all our tools from the start.
How It Works
When a teacher logs in and opens the toolpicker for the first time, they are welcomed with a short onboarding journey. Instead of browsing through a list of tool names, teachers simply answer a few quick questions about their teaching goals, desired outcomes, and areas of focus. Based on these responses, the system recommends an activity template tailored to their needs. From there, teachers can immediately begin editing and publishing the activity—saving time and eliminating guesswork.
Onboarding Questions
During onboarding, teachers answer a few short questions to help us recommend the best activity template. The questions are:
What do you want to achieve?
(Multiple choices possible)
- Reduce grading burden
- Engage large cohorts with ease
- Automate the feedback process
- Reduce my workload
- Facilitate effective group work
- Enrich course material
What are your desired outcomes?
(Multiple choices possible)
- Increase student engagement
- Help students give better feedback
- Make large classes feel more interactive
- Make content consumption active
- Improve critical thinking skills
- Stop students from skipping readings
What is your primary focus?
- Students engaging with course materials before class
- Students evaluating and learning from each other’s work
- Providing structured feedback on student work
After answering these questions, a recommended activity type will be presented.
This onboarding is designed exclusively for first-time users, ensuring that returning teachers can continue working as usual without interruption. The feature is available across all LMSs where FeedbackFruits is integrated, making it accessible to educators everywhere.
Benefits
The benefits of this onboarding go beyond convenience. By guiding teachers through a structured series of questions, the flow helps them reflect on what they want to achieve with their course design—whether that’s reducing grading workload, increasing student engagement, or facilitating better group work. The personalized activity suggestions then provide a strong starting point, helping teachers set up meaningful learning experiences right away.
Ultimately, this new onboarding process empowers educators to get the most out of FeedbackFruits from the very beginning. By making it simple to match teaching intentions with the right activity, we aim to help teachers save time, reduce complexity, and create more engaging, effective learning environments for their students.
