Introduction

This guide will walk you through how to use the Setup Wizard to integrate FeedbackFruits with your learning management system, Blackboard. This guide is intended for site admins and IT personnel - if you do not have the permissions to access your LMS admin environment, you will not be able to use the Wizard, so please ensure you have the appropriate permissions before starting the setup process.

It’s important that you reach out to your Partner/Pilot Manager at FeedbackFruits before using this Wizard so they can support your implementation.

Getting Started

To begin, please select your LMS from the list:

Step 1: Setup LTI Integration

Each step in the Wizard has the appropriate instructions added - please read the given instructions carefully as you proceed through the steps. 

Within the Wizard, login to your Blackboard environment and follow the instructions given: 

Copy your Client ID by clicking the copy Client ID button - you can paste this into the Blackboard interface and hit submit. 

On the next screen, copy the Deployment ID from the Blackboard interface and copy it into the FeedbackFruits textbox. 

Once the Deployment ID has been added, click continue in the FeedbackFruits interface. 

Verify the configuration by checking the correct information has been added into Blackboard: 

You will need to add the following information to finish registration: 

Environment Name: The distinct designation of your institution, along with any additional identifiers that will help distinguish this environment from others, especially if you manage multiple environments.

Blackboard URL: The primary domain URL where you access your institution's resources and services.

Contact Information: The name and email address of the designated representative who can be reached for any technical inquiries related to your integration.

Once the fields have been completed, click Register deployment.

If the deployment was created successfully, you will see a confirmation message (shown in the below screenshot). If you don’t see this confirmation message, or run into any other issues, please contact FeedbackFruits support team via integrations@feedbackfruits.com.

Step 2: Verify LTI Integration

Once the deployment has been created, please follow the instructions provided in screenshot below (step 2 of the overall process) and use the Detect Launch button to complete the verification process.

This step checks the API integration with your LMS; it is important that this step is completed to provide a better experience for teachers.

Step 3: Setup API Integration

The Wizard will now take you step-by-step through the process of setting up the API integration. 

Select a role for the FeedbackFruits integration - the Wizard will give detailed instructions of how to do this:

Add the privileges shown below to the chosen role:

Follow the flow to create the user for the FeedbackFruits integration:

You will need to create an integration for REST API - the Wizard will guide you through how to do so, as in the below screenshot:

Enable the API within your Blackboard interface.

Step 4: Verify API Integration

This step is necessary to connect your FeedbackFruits account with permissions from your Blackboard account. When you click Continue to Permission, you will be redirected to the Blackboard environment to grant these permissions.

Congratulations - at this point, your setup is successfully completed and you can start using FeedbackFruits within your Blackboard integration!
