Introduction
This article will walk you through setting up your competency framework in the FeedbackFruits Platform step-by-step.
The FeedbackFruits Platform allows institutions to set up competency frameworks centred around rubrics. This framework allows learning designers to define rubrics/intended learning outcomes that teachers can then implement in their activities.
Over time, as students participate in learning activities using these rubrics, the system gathers these as data points. Students, teachers, and mentors can see the narrative feedback students received and their progress toward competencies in the portfolio.
One way to share these frameworks and make them accessible for teachers to use in activities across multiple different courses is by sharing the rubric to the Institutional Library. Rubrics in the institutional library are visible to all teaching staff in the institution.

Setting Up Your Institutional Skills Framework
Step 1: Accessing the Platform
From within your LMS, navigate to the FeedbackFruits Platform. You can read how to do this here:
Bear in mind that only Learning Designers should have access to create institutional templates - we don't recommend too many people within an institution having access to avoid confusion.
Step 2: Setting up Competency Groups
Competency groups are a collection of related competencies. In FeedbackFruits, the folders that you place the rubrics inside of should represent a selected competency - for this example, we're using Problem Solving.
Once you publish, you'll be able to start creating rubrics by clicking on the green circle with the + icon button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Adding Rubrics
Once you've clicked on the green circle with the + icon button in the bottom right corner of the screen, an empty rubric will pop up. Here you can add your desired competency rubric/learning outcomes.
Once you're done filling out the rubric, you'll be prompted to select a folder to assign it to - when you hit save, you'll be prompted to select a group. You can either click the drop down arrow next to the group name and then click the place here checkmark that appears to the right of the line, or click select in the top right.
If you want to add the rubric to a new folder that doesn't exist yet, hit create folder in the top right.
Step 4: Rubric Overview
Once you're done, you'll be taken back to the main overview of the rubrics you've created.
If you want to create another rubric, just repeat the same steps until you're satisfied.
Once you've set up all the rubrics in their folders, you're good to go! Your institution's faculty can now start implementing these rubrics into their learning activities.
