Step 1: Take quiz
Before starting the assignment, make sure to review the instructions provided by your teacher. If the assignment includes group work, you will also be able to see the members of your group.
Fig. 1: Take quiz
Note: This image shows what a student sees when accessing the quiz for the first time. No additional instructions have been added by the teacher, and the Start learning step button is displayed in the center of the screen to begin the quiz.
Fig. 2: Quiz results and retake option
After completing the quiz, your attempt is saved and shows when the quiz was taken, how many questions were answered, and a breakdown of your results. The Take learning step again button appears in the center, allowing you to retake the quiz if needed.
Questions
Once you click Start learning step, you will be taken into the quiz. Along the bottom of the screen, you will see question cards, allowing you to answer the questions in any order. Depending on how your teacher has set up the quiz, questions may be multiple choice or open-ended.
For each question, you also have the option to Skip & show answer, which will automatically assign 0 points for that question.
Multiple Choice Questions
For multiple choice questions, you will see a prompt with several answer options. Depending on your teacher’s settings, you may be able to select more than one answer.
The Submit button will remain greyed out until you make a selection. Be sure to click Submit once you are satisfied with your choice, otherwise your answer will not be saved.
Fig. 3: Multiple choice question options
At the top of the image, the question prompt is displayed. Below it is the answer section, including a blue box stating “multiple answers can be selected.” Under this, three answer options are shown. At the bottom of the screen, the Submit button is greyed out, with the Skip & show answer option displayed beneath it.
Open Questions
For open questions, no predefined answer options are provided. These questions are open-ended and allow for your own interpretation. Depending on the intent of the question, your teacher may or may not include a suggested or correct answer.
Because some open questions do not require a written response, the Submit button is always active and never greyed out. This allows you to complete the question even if you choose not to enter an answer.
Fig. 4: Open question options
In the image, the question is shown at the top, followed by a text box where the student can enter their response. The blue Submit button appears below the text box, with the Skip & show answer option displayed underneath.
Good to Know
If you need to add code as an answer to a question, you can input LaTeX into our textboxes.
There is no in-tool option to later “unskip” or redo an individual answer. Once you choose Skip, the response is final and cannot be changed by you or your teacher.
