Providing feedback as a teacher in Peer Review & Group Member Evaluation

Teachers can add themselves as reviewers. Here's how.

Updated over a week ago

This article is about adding the course instructor as a reviewer and providing feedback to students in Peer Review and Group Member Evaluation assignments. For details on how to set up assignments with these tools, please see Peer Review and Group Member Evaluation.

Prerequisite

Teachers can only add themselves as reviewers after the assignment starts. If you plan to give feedback to your students in Peer Review or Group Member Evaluation, you would want to set a deadline for Given reviews when setting up the assignment.

Step-by-Step

Once the Given reviews deadline passes, the Received reviews section will be open. Hover your mouse arrow over a student's name and click VIEW to see the student's Received reviews.

In the Received reviews, scroll all the way to the right. Click on the plus icon at the bottom right to Add yourself as a reviewer.

Again, scroll to the right. You should be able to see your name pop up as the last reviewer. You can then give ratings and comments to the student.

Please note teachers' ratings in Peer Review or Group Member Evaluation will be taken into account in grading for such assignments. You can also configure the Grading if you would like to further adjust students' grades.

This concludes the Provide feedback as a teacher in Peer Review & Group Member Evaluation tutorial.
