Improved annotation functionality
The improved annotation functionality allows you to create, edit and delete selections whenever you want. This counts for the annotations in documents, but also for video and audio files. The improvements are visible in the video and print screen below.

New page layout styles
There are some improvements made to the layout of the page styles. The sidebar is now underneath the main app-bar rather than next to it and the side app-bar is now dark grey when viewing within a LMS.

Canvas Sections
The sections in Canvas now also work with the use of OAuth. This means that in Canvas you can now use sections next to the use of groups as you were already used to. This needs to be enabled per institution and relies on the fact whether access was given already to sections. To do this please follow the steps in this article: Canvas API configuration and get in contact with [email protected] to ensure the enabling from our side.

New platform course/activity overview
All the activities created on direct will now be part of the normal course overview when logging in on FeedbackFruits outside of the LMS.

Manual allocations for Assignments (feature flagged)
Teachers can now manually allocate individual students or a group to review another student or group. In the second step for Group Member Evaluation and the third step for Peer Review, the give feedback step, the teacher is now able to change the allocations to make them manually.
This feature is available when the feature flag is lifted, please contact us to do this for your account. An article with further explanation of this feature will be added to the beta and feature flag overview page

Interactive Study Material csv. bulk import (in LMS only)
Teachers are able to use the csv. import feature for Interactive Document, Video and Audio when no groups can be synced via the LMS only.

Submitter anonymity for Assignment (feature flagged)
Teachers now have the option to make the Peer Review assignment double blind, meaning that not only the reviewer is anonymous but the deliverable is anonymous as well. This can be done by enabling the submitter anonymity under step 3 in Peer Review.
This feature is available when the feature flag is lifted, please contact us to do this for your account. An article with further explanation of this feature will be added to the beta and feature flag overview page

Interactive Presentation improvements
Over the past months many improvements have been made on the scalability and stability of the tool, these will be included in the release. More improvements included in here are:

  • Every question slide now shows the presentation code/URL for reference

  • The Audience Discussion tab now syncs the upvotes and comments realtime

  • As a student you can now also enable zoom-buttons (via the top right menu) for accessibility requirements. This works in live and offline presentations

  • Clear communication on when a presentation is closed, with the ability to open it again and browse back through the slides and question answers for both students and teachers.

Announcement use of direct (November release)
As we are moving away from the direct pages (as mentioned in the September release) we want to announce via this way that Standalone activities are now accessible via the normal course overview and the direct pages will be removed with in the November release. This is only relevant for our platform users, the reason for these alterations is because we are moving away from the use of the direct sites. All our tools are integrated into the LMS and we are focussing to improve the experience there, as this is the main way of usage, the platform will remain.

This concludes the Release notes October 2019.
