Recording Audio, Video, and Screen in Moodle

A breakdown of how to record audio, video, and screen in the Moodle LMS

Updated over a week ago

Introduction

In this article we will walk you through how to record audio, video, and your screen while accessing FeedbackFruits through the Moodle learning management system.

Please note - due to restrictions in Moodle, recording is only enabled after an activity has been saved.

How Does It Work?

Step 1: Add Placeholder Media

Insert a temporary video or audio file in the learning step. Please make sure that your file type matches what you want to upload, e.g. if you want to make a video submission, you must choose a video file to upload. You can replace the temporary file with your intended recording later.

Step 2: Save activity

Click the “Save” button in the top right corner.

Step 3: Open Activity in New Tab

After saving, open the activity in a new tab to enable recording.

Step 4: Edit Activity

Once the activity opens in a new tab recording audio, video, and screen is enabled. Click on the edit button.

Step 5: Change Your Uploaded File

Go to the Video/Audio step and click Change video or Change audio, depending on what you originally uploaded.

Step 6: Record

Use the enabled recording options to record audio, video, or your screen for this learning step.
