Which video platforms are supported when uploading via URL?

The video platforms that we currently support when uploading a video via URL.

Updated this week

When uploading a video via URL, the video needs to be publicly available in order to be used for uploading. Generally, if the URL does not work, the platform is not supported. If a URL from one of the supported platforms does not work, please contact our support team.

Supported video platforms:

  • Youtube

  • Vimeo

  • X, formerly known as Twitter

  • Kaltura

  • VidGrid

  • Panopto

  • Yuja

  • Ubicast

  • Presentations2Go

  • Libcast

Currently NOT supported:

Educational video platforms:

  • Echo360

  • Microsoft Stream

  • Hosted Zoom videos

  • Loom

Other video platforms:

  • DailyMotion

  • Facebook

  • Reddit

  • Mediasite (temporarily)

In case you were able to successfully upload a link to a website that contains a publicly available website, but the video is not properly playing for you, this could be caused by the fact that the video is in MPEG-DASH format, which we, unfortunately, do not support at the moment.

The type of the video can be verified by opening the developer tools in the 'Network' tab, after which you can see whether this is a MPEG-DASH file (not supported) indicated by .dash or a m3u8 file as indicated by .ts .
